School Uniform
At Wawne Primary School, we have a mandatory school uniform for children from Reception to Year 6. The colours are Navy blue, white and black.
Our school uniform consists of:
Navy blue sweatshirt or cardigan (with or without the school logo)
White or navy-blue polo shirt
Black trousers, skirt or dress
Black tights, black or white socks
In summer, a plain blue and white gingham school dress can be worn or black school shorts with no additional colours, badges or adornments.
Footwear
School footwear is appropriate black shoes, not trainers. If children come in wellies, please also bring a change of shoes as wellies are not supportive to wear all day.
PE Kit
Plain black shorts, plain white T-shirt and trainers or plimsolls
Outdoor games kit includes a warm jogging top, tracksuit bottoms and trainers suitable for outdoor use. PE Kit should be brought to school on a Monday for use during the week and taken home on a Friday.
All clothing and shoes should be labelled with your child’s name.
Hair that touches a child’s shoulders must be tied up. Patterned shaved hairstyles and dyed hair are not appropriate for school.
Jewellery should not be worn as there is a danger that it may be caught on equipment. Children with pierced ears should only wear small plain stud earrings with no adornment which must be removed or covered with surgical tape for PE lessons. Children may wear a watch but no smart watches are to be worn to school. No nail varnish or make up is allowed.
Please be aware that there can be delays in uniform deliveries so we advise placing orders before 30th June ready for September. We know that keeping costs down is important to all families. You are under no obligation to buy items online that have the school logo, you may purchase uniform from wherever you wish as long as they adhere to the colour guidelines. Some parents tend to buy the cardigans or sweatshirts with the school logo and then buy other things such as polo shirts from elsewhere. This is a good idea to keep costs down especially as in school, things can get messy.
We thank you for helping us to maintain high standards at our school
