Our School Council
Our School Council was established to give the children a voice on how they would like to see certain aspects of our school run.
The School Council is made up of a representative from each year group from Years 1 to 6. Representatives from Years 5 and 6 act on behalf of the children in our Nursery and Reception. The children also elect two School Captains from Year 6 to lead the School Council.
The School Council is elected each September by their class mates and School Council meetings take place regularly. The children meet together with a member of the teaching team to discuss any issues raised by the school leadership team or issues that they wish to raise themselves. The School council representatives discuss issues with the rest of their class and share school council decisions.
School Council Fundraising
Each year the School Captains choose charities that the school focus our fund-raising efforts on throughout the school year. They lead an assembly to share their chosen charity nominations and then the whole school vote to choose one charity for the year. The school council discuss fund raising ideas and these are then carried out over the year.
For the 2025-26 school year, the children have chosen to raise funds for Hull PDSA. The school council are busy planning their fund raising endeavours for the year launching with a 'Wear What You Like' Day!
Hull PDSA visit to school
During the school year, the children have been taking part in a range of activities to raise money for Hull PDSA. Over the year, they have raised an amazing £1561.29!
Our School Captains handed over a cheque to one of the veterinary nurses from the charity based in Hull. This money will go to help lots of pets in the local area.
