School Opening Hours
Compulsory day for all children 9am - 3.30pm although the doors open for children to come into school at 8.50am.  This equates to 32.5 hours a week.

Office hours are: 8.45am – 3.45pm.

Arrival
The school gates are opened by the school caretaker at 8.50am. Teaching staff are available on the playground from 8.50am and escort children into school ready to start the day at 9am. For safeguarding and health and safety reasons, parents/carers should not enter the school building without having first registered as a visitor at the school office, and must let children enter the building alone.

If your child arrives late to school, or is collected/dropped off during school hours, all parents/carers will be required to use the signing in system located in reception. Please do not drop children off to come in without an adult to sign them in.

Punctuality
Punctuality is an important social convention and late arrivals disrupt the routines of the school.  We would therefore request that parents make every effort to ensure that their children are in school on time. The school day starts at 9am prompt and we expect your child to be in class at that time.  Registers are marked by 9.10am and your child will receive a late mark if they are not in school by that time.  At 9.10am the register will close. If your child arrives after this time they will receive a mark which shows they are in school but in accordance with regulations it will be recorded as an unauthorised absence.  This means that if lateness persists you may face the possibility of receiving a penalty notice.

The afternoon session begins at 1pm and the register is called immediately.  Pupils arriving between 1pm and 1.15pm will be marked as late.  Any pupil arriving after the close of register at 1.15 pm will be marked as unauthorised absence. If your child goes home for lunch, they must return for 1pm and not any earlier as they will not be on the register, in case of fire evacuation.

Home Time
Lessons end at 3.30pm daily.  Each teacher supervises their class out of the building at the end of the school day.  If your child is to be collected by anyone not normally scheduled for a particular day, please advise the teacher or school office of the details prior to 3pm.
